(Acting) Returning Officer’s final recommendation

1

Richmond and Northallerton*

North Richmondshire

Dalton-on-Tees & Eryholme

Clerk to Dalton-on-Tees Parish Council

Objection to changing the polling station from Dalton-on-Tees Village Hall to Croft-on-Tees Village Hall.

Dalton-on-Tees Village Hall condition is poor and currently is not suitable to be used as a polling station.  If it is renovated, an inspection and review would take place.

An interim inspection has taken place to Dalton-on-Tees Village Hall as renovation work is underway and to be completed around mid-December.  The final recommendation is to reinstate the polling station to Dalton-on-Tees Village Hall on the evidence of an improvement to the building. A further inspection will be made in January.

7

Kingsley 2*

Current arrangements for Kingsley 2 are not satisfactory as it is difficult to get to the polling station.  Potential alternative at Station View Sheltered Housing Scheme Common Room.

Inspection of Station View Sheltered Housing Scheme Common Room on suitability for use as a polling station to take place.  (Verbal feedback to be provided)

Potentially change from Starbeck Methodist Church to Station View Sheltered housing scheme common room if it is deemed suitable to be used as a polling station.

8

Starbeck & Kingsley

Proposals for the LBC to have an extra division at the 2027 Election (Town Council & NYC) where Kingsley may become part of an historic Starbeck ward and a separate polling station would be a great idea.

At the conclusion of the LGBCE review, there will be a full polling district review which may well require further changes to polling stations. Currently this is out of scope for this review.
